Vanilla loot is fine. AoW loot is better. Three custom plugins quietly enrich the places you already grind — chests, fishing rods, and pickaxes — without ever replacing what Mojang ships. Everything is additive: if the game would have given you 4 wheat, you still get the 4 wheat. We just slip something extra in alongside it.

1AoWChestLoot — every chest is a little richer
AoWChestLoot listens for LootGenerateEvent — the moment Minecraft
rolls the contents of a generated chest. It classifies the chest into one of three tiers based on
the vanilla loot-table key, then sprinkles extras on top. The original roll is never touched.
The plugin looks at the loot-table key (for example minecraft:chests/end_city_treasure)
and matches it to one of three tiers:
| Tier | Vanilla loot-tables | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| LOW | village, simple_dungeon, abandoned_mineshaft, shipwreck_supply |
Early-game pockets. Food, arrows, a saddle if you're lucky. |
| MID | desert_pyramid, jungle_temple, stronghold, nether_bridge, bastion_bridge, ruined_portal, buried_treasure |
Mid-game expedition rewards. Diamonds and tools start showing up. |
| HIGH | end_city, ancient_city, woodland_mansion, bastion_treasure |
Endgame stakes. Enchanted gold apples. Netherite. The good stuff. |
Extra food and arrows are the headline — these are survival chests. Occasional enchanted book. Jackpot roll can drop a saddle or a small stack of diamonds if the dice are kind.
Scaled valuables — iron, gold, lapis in larger amounts. Higher enchanted-book chance. Jackpot roll can drop diamonds + a name tag — perfect for the next pet you tame.
Big enchanted-book chance. Stronger scaled valuables. Jackpot can drop an enchanted golden apple or a netherite ingot. Worth the Wither/Warden walk.
| Tier | Jackpot pool (one rolled if jackpot triggers) |
|---|---|
| LOW | saddle · stack of diamond |
| MID | diamond bundle + name_tag |
| HIGH | enchanted_golden_apple · netherite_ingot |
max-added ceiling stops a single chest from
being absurd. You'll get a noticeable boost — not a creative-mode dump.
- Vanilla rolls the chest from
minecraft:chests/end_city_treasure. Say it gives you an iron sword and a few diamonds. LootGenerateEventfires. AoWChestLoot sees the table key containsend_city→ HIGH tier.- Enrich-chance gate passes (it doesn't always).
- Scaled valuables are added: more diamonds, maybe a stack of obsidian.
- Enchanted-book chance hits — a
Sharpness IVbook lands in the chest. - Jackpot rolls and hits the
enchanted_golden_appleslot. - Cap check: total adds are under
max-added. Done. - You open the chest. Everything appears at once. Nothing has been removed.

2AoWFishing — there's something legendary down there
AoWFishing hooks PlayerFishEvent (state CAUGHT_FISH).
Your vanilla catch is kept — cod is still cod. On top of it, a bonus roll might add a tier
drop, and at the top end the whole server hears about it.
0.12 — about 1 in 8 catches roll a bonus tier.
Bonus chance scales up to 0.30 — nearly 1 in 3.
Common 70 / Uncommon 22 / Rare 7 / Legendary 1. Luck of the Sea also shifts these weights toward higher tiers.
| Tier | Weight (luck 0) | Example drops |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 70 | XP orbs, cod, salmon, kelp, string, bone, bowl |
| Uncommon | 22 | iron_nugget, gold_nugget, lapis_lazuli, ink_sac, name_tag, saddle |
| Rare | 7 | enchanted_book, nautilus_shell, diamond, filled_map |
| Legendary | 1 | heart_of_the_sea, enchanted_golden_apple, random-enchanted diamond tool or weapon |
- AFK-resistant. Real catches only — no auto-fisher exploit gets bonus drops harder than a real player.
- Cheap entry. A wooden rod plus some patience and you're already in the loot pool.
- Stacks with QoL. Get to the dock with
/sethome dock+/home dock, set spawn breakpoints with/aowspawn, then chill. - Crossplay-clean. Bedrock players (the
.-prefixed ones) get identical drops and broadcasts.

3AoWMining — every swing might surprise you
AoWMining listens to BlockBreakEvent in survival mode, when the
player is holding a pickaxe. Two systems run in parallel: ore bonuses and
stone surprises.
When you break an ore — coal_ore, copper_ore, iron_ore,
gold_ore, redstone_ore, lapis_ore, diamond_ore,
emerald_ore (and all their deepslate variants), plus
nether_gold_ore, nether_quartz_ore, and ancient_debris —
a small bonus drop may roll on top of the vanilla drop:
| Bonus item | Why it's nice |
|---|---|
raw_iron | Smelt for free iron, never goes out of style. |
raw_gold | Trade fodder or piglin bartering bank. |
diamond | The dream extra. Rarer than the rest. |
amethyst_shard | Tinted glass, spyglass, decorative wins. |
emerald | Villager trade fuel. |
Plain stone is no longer plain. When you break stone, deepslate,
tuff, granite, diorite, or andesite, a
rare surprise drop may appear:
Bits of crystal hidden in the rock — a tiny gift for the long tunnel.
Feeds your farms. Tunnel mining now also fuels your wheat.
The universal early-game fuel. A welcome sight 200 blocks into a tunnel.
- Y-bands. Ore bonuses roll between
y=0andy=63. Stone surprises roll only belowy=40— so surface gardening doesn't farm shards. - Silk Touch skipped. If your pickaxe has Silk Touch, bonus drops do not roll. The clean-block intent is preserved.
- Survival + pickaxe only. Creative breaks don't roll. Mining a block by hand or with an axe doesn't roll.
- Per-player cooldown. A short cooldown stops the surprise spam from one-shotting a megastrip.

4How chances stack
Mob loot adds another layer on top of these. When you kill a tough mob, you're rolling several systems at once.
On a Wither Skeleton kill with a Looting III sword:
- Base the loot module in AoWMobs chance =
0.03 + (3 × 0.01)= 0.06 - Tough-mob multiplier (Wither Skeleton qualifies) = × 2.5
- Effective drop chance ≈ 0.15 — about 1 in 7 kills
- If it rolls and hits the Epic tier on a tough mob, you get
a "Battle-Worn Relic" diamond-tier enchanted weapon or an
enchanted_golden_apple, plus +5 XP.
WITHER_SKELETON, RAVAGER, EVOKER,
VINDICATOR, PIGLIN_BRUTE, WARDEN, BLAZE,
GHAST, ENDERMAN, WITCH, ELDER_GUARDIAN,
HOGLIN, ZOGLIN. See Mobs for the full picture.
| Action | Plugins that may roll |
|---|---|
| Open a generated chest | AoWChestLoot (tier-based ADD) |
| Reel in a fish | AoWFishing (4-tier ADD) |
| Mine an ore or stone | AoWMining (ore bonus + stone surprise) |
| Kill a tough monster | the loot module in AoWMobs + the drops module in AoWMobs + the Champions module in AoWMythic (see Mobs) |
5Putting it to use
A few playstyles that lean hard on the loot systems.
Use /rtp to find new biomes, raid LOW chests for jackpots, sell stacks on
/ah. Cheap, mobile, profitable.
Set up a dock, enchant a rod, and chase that Legendary broadcast. Sell shells and books
on /ah for a steady income.
Ore bonuses + stone surprises stack while you mine. Skip Silk Touch on your main pick. Bring Fortune III and a stack of food.
