Living world

Vendetta, Awakening, Fracture & Blood Moons

The longer you survive and the deeper you go, the more the world escalates — and eventually hunts you.

01 The world is keeping score

The Fractured Veil isn't a static spawn table. Every champion you kill, every dimension you crack open, and every hour you survive feeds four interlocking systems that permanently raise the stakes. A fresh world is gentle. The world you've lived in for a hundred hours is actively trying to end you.

Vendetta · personal hunters
Awakening · hardened dimensions
Fracture 0–10 · world escalation
Blood Moon · every ~7 days
Night Terror · the deep dark
How it all connects: these systems stack. A Blood Moon night, beyond 500 blocks, at Fracture Level 8, in an awakened Nether, while a Vendetta is hunting you — that is the most dangerous the server can get, and it's entirely earned by how you've played.

02 Vendetta — the world learns your name

Survive long enough and the Veil takes it personally. Once you cross ~6 hours of playtime, the world begins to roll for a mob that spawns specifically to hunt you, by name. It is not a random champion that happens to find you — it was made for you.

⌛ Earned over time

Vendetta chance climbs with playtime. The more hours you bank, the more often the Veil sends a hunter. New players are left alone; veterans are stalked.

🩸 It knows you

A Vendetta mob spawns titled with your name — "<You>'s Shadow", "the Grudgebearer" — and deals bonus damage to you specifically.

🐾 It won't quit

Vendetta hunters are persistent — they don't despawn and they track you across the world. Running doesn't lose it. You finish this fight.

💎 It pays out

Kill your hunter and it drops a Vendetta Shard — proof the world blinked first, and a reward for closing the grudge.

What a Vendetta looks like in the wild

TraitBehaviour
TriggerRolls once you pass ~6h playtime; chance scales up the longer you survive
NameCarries your name — e.g. "the Grudgebearer", "<You>'s Shadow"
AggressionTargets you with extra damage; ignores easier prey
PersistenceWill not despawn — it hunts you down across chunks
RewardDrops a Vendetta Shard on death
This is the late-game flavour. A Vendetta with your name on it is the world telling you you've made it far enough to matter. Treat the Shard like a trophy — you earned it by simply refusing to die.

03 Dimension Awakening — you only get one first step

The first player to ever enter the Nether or the End permanently hardens that dimension for everyone. There is no soft-launch and no take-backs. The chat announces it ("The Nether stirs…") and from that moment the rules of that realm are different forever.

What awakening does
🔥 Permanent & server-wide

The first footstep into a dimension awakens it for the whole server, not just you. It cannot be undone — that realm is now hostile end-game territory.

⬆️ +Tier champions

Champions in an awakened dimension spawn at a higher tier than they would in the Overworld. The floor is raised; the easy mobs are gone.

👑 Awakened titles

Mobs gain themed awakened titlesNetherborn, Flame Sovereign, Void Echo — marking them as creatures of a stirred realm.

📣 The whole server knows

The awakening broadcasts to chat. Everyone learns the moment a realm turns dangerous — and who walked through the door first.

DimensionOn first entryExample awakened titles
The Nether"The Nether stirs…" — permanently hardened, champions gain +tierNetherborn, Flame Sovereign
The EndPermanently hardened, champions gain +tierVoid Echo
Be ready before you cross over. If you're the first one through the portal, you are choosing to fight an awakened realm from the start — and you're hardening it for everyone who follows. Bring gear, not optimism.

04 Fracture Level — a slider from 0 to 10

The Fracture Level is a world-wide escalation counter that climbs from 0 to 10 as the server kills champions and bosses. The higher it sits, the more the Veil bleeds through — and the more often titled Champions spawn for everyone.

Where Fracture Level shows up
  • Spawn rates: the base champion spawn chance is multiplied by 1 + (level × 0.15) — at Fracture Level 10 that's roughly 2.5× more champions than a level-0 world.
  • Ascension Stars: the chance for a champion to roll 0–5 bonus stars scales with Fracture Level. A high-fracture world produces meaner, star-studded champions.
  • Driven by kills: champion and boss kills push the level up — the server's own success makes the world harder.
Fracture LevelSpawn multiplierFeel of the world
0×1.00Calm. Champions are a rare surprise.
3×1.45Champions show up regularly; nights get spicy.
5×1.75Titled mobs are common; stars start appearing.
8×2.20The Veil is thin — champions everywhere, high star rolls.
10×2.50Maximum escalation. The world is openly hostile.

Check the current world state at any time:

/fracture › Java: show the current Fracture Level (0–10)
.fracture › Bedrock: same command, note the "." prefix
It cuts both ways. A high Fracture Level means more danger — but also far more Champion+ kills, which means far more access to the rare/epic loot table, relics, and Veilweaver glyphs. Risk and reward climb the same slider.

05 Blood Moon — the sky turns red

Roughly every 7 days, a Blood Moon rises. The sky goes red and the night becomes a gauntlet: mobs spawn with more HP and titled Champions appear at 3× the normal rate. It is the single biggest spike to the spawn formula.

How Blood Moon stacks with everything else

The Blood Moon's ×3 is one factor in the full champion spawn formula. It multiplies on top of the others — so a Blood Moon during a deep-dark night, far from spawn, in a high-fracture world is the perfect storm:

spawn chance = 0.05
             × 1.8 (night)
             × 1.5 (beyond 500 blocks)
             × (1 + Fracture Level × 0.15)
             × 3 (BLOOD MOON)
Plan around it. A Blood Moon is a brilliant night to farm champions for loot — or a brilliant night to stay walled up in a claim and wait it out. The server time, mob hostility, and the Blood Moon itself are all correct on both Java and Bedrock.
Bedrock players: the Bedrock sky can look frozen day-or-night — that's a known Geyser display bug, not the server. The Blood Moon is still happening underneath. Use /realtime (.realtime) or the sidebar scoreboard to read the true time and weather.

06 Night Terror — the dark beyond 500 blocks

Two of the strongest spawn multipliers come from simply being out at night and far from where you started. Together they make the deep wilderness after dark — what we call the Night Terror — the place champions breed.

ConditionSpawn multiplierWhat it means
Night×1.8Champions are nearly twice as likely after dark.
Beyond 500 blocks×1.5The further from spawn, the thinner the Veil.
Both at once×2.7Night + distance — the Night Terror is real.
Far-flung night builds are a champion magnet. Light up your base, claim it with a golden shovel, and consider sleeping through the dark when you're deep in the wilderness — a bed still skips the night, and the server's mob hostility honours real server time on both platforms.

07 The progression curve — how a world ages

Put it all together and a single world tells a story. It starts cute and ends with monsters that know your name. Here's the arc most worlds walk:

EARLY MID LATE cute low champions awakened Nether • rising Fracture Vendetta with YOUR name
🌱 Early game

Fracture Level near 0. Champions are a rare, almost cute surprise — a Rotting Farmer here, a Bone Archer there. The world is forgiving while you find your feet.

🔥 Mid game

Someone cracks the Nether and awakens it. Champion kills push Fracture Level up. Blood Moons start to bite. Titled mobs and Ascension Stars become a regular part of nights.

💀 Late game

High Fracture, an awakened Nether and End, and now the world hunts you — a Vendetta spawns wearing your name. Survival itself is the achievement.

The pacing is the point. Difficulty isn't a setting you pick — it's a record of what the server has done. Every system on this page rewards the same thing: staying alive, going deeper, and refusing to back down. The Veil remembers all of it.
